The first time Don Pardo was seen in a sketch. This actually was the monologue for the season 5 season finale hosted by Buck Henry, the final episode with the original cast and the end of the first five years. Don played a guy named “Ron Waldo” who could do a spot on imitation of Don Pardo. As many times over the years we would hear his voice, we only rarely saw him on camera
